Editing

Me and Mahida have been editing our footage for the past 2 weeks. It started off okay but we did come across some difficulties. The first was that we both only had experience with iMovie and this was a huge jump to go straight into Final Cut. I think I have finally got the hang of it now but it did take a while as it is much more complex. There is a lot more to do on Final Cut and i think its much better in term of its ability but it is not as simple to use as iMovie. The second problem is that our actor (Fraser) had practiced the song but he didn't seem to know it well enough. He knew the beginning of the song and we got a lot of shots of that but he was rusty on the middle bit. Therefore he sort of mimed what he thought the words were wherever he got stuck and this meant that for some parts of the song there is no footage we can use that is in lip sync with the song. The third problem was that we did not film enough footage. This we know was bound to happen because the two actors were never free at the right times as us.

We have been working really hard by editing and filming at the same time and are working our way through it. We have editing just over two minutes which means we are exactly half way through and aim to finish it next week. Zaq and Joe are meant to be filming this weekend so we have some more footage and Mahida and I have done some shots during this week which we can also use.
